The gorget of the Rufous Hummingbird can often look brown in different light. This image is almost full frame. The noise level (magnified 1:1) was pretty high (which really affects image quality), but the histogram looked good-it wasn't underexposed. If it hadn't been so noisy, I would have cropped it more. Noise reduction didn't help much, either.

This photoblog is my nature journal and travelogue. Many of my wildlife images were made in environments impacted by humans. My goal is to feature each animal in a way that allows the viewer to sense the essence of its life in the wild.
