Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna) Size and Shape: "Tiny among birds, Anna’s are medium-sized and stocky for a hummingbird. They have a straight, shortish bill and a fairly broad tail. When perched, wingtips meet the tip of their short tail."
At the end of March I went to Arizona for a landscape workshop starting at the Grand Canyon. I had a free day before the workshop started, and a free afternoon on the last day of the workshop to do some bird photography. The bird series will be posted first, followed by the landscape series.

This photoblog is my nature journal and travelogue. Many of my wildlife images were made in environments impacted by humans. My goal is to feature each animal in a way that allows the viewer to sense the essence of its life in the wild. The purpose of the accompanying narratives is to enhance awareness and appreciation of our natural world, as well as to inspire everyone to protect and care for it.
